Mindful counseling for individuals and couples in Portland, Oregon
Welcome! Thank you for visiting my website. As a Licensed Professional Counselor in the State of Oregon, I provide individual and couples counseling for adults in the Portland area. I specialize in helping women and men who struggle with relationships, life transitions, depression, anxiety, and addiction-related issues. I am an adjunct professor at Portland State University in the Graduate School of Education, and a Clinical Supervisor at the Mindful Experiential Therapy Approaches (META) Counseling Clinic.
I use mindful and experiential approaches in therapy. This means that I value your experience in the present moment as a tremendous resource for learning, flexibility, and change. In sessions I help you pay attention to the present moment in a state of non-judgmental self-observation and study your experience of the world. By noticing what’s happening in the here-and-now, you can choose and create the kinds of behaviors and relationships that fulfill your deepest needs and desires.
My life informs my work, and my work informs my life. I provide a stable, compassionate, and understanding presence. Although I may have knowledge and expertise that can help you, I also believe that the most important answers to life’s questions come from within, and I can help you discover these truths within yourself.
