In cooperation with Alma Midwifery and the Alma Education and Movement Space, I am pleased to offer the following monthly support group:
Support for Fathers and Partners: Expecting, Birthing and Beyond
Next group: May 21 from 7-9 pm
Are you:
–Preparing to become a parent for the first time?
–Wondering how to best support your partner in birth and motherhood?
–Adjusting as you welcome a new child to your family?
–Struggling to navigate your roles as a parent and a partner?
–Discovering that parenting is quite different than you expected?
We invite you to attend an education and support group with Stephen Keeley, LPC, a therapist (and new father) in Portland. Stephen will present some of the common experiences and challenges of those who are anticipating or adjusting to becoming a parent. We will engage in supportive discussions around some of the practical, emotional, and physical considerations of this transition, specifically when your partner is bearing, birthing and/or breastfeeding the child. There will also be opportunities to explore your own personal questions, doubts, fears, and excitement about becoming or being a parent, and connect with others who are going through the same process.
This group is based on the philosophy that in the abundance of expert opinions and information about parenting, we sometimes forget to trust our own intuition. Come and learn how to access your inner wisdom, tap into your resources, and support yourself as you support your partner.
Third Tuesday of every month, 7:00-8:30 pm - Next group: May 21
At 1233 SE Stark
Free for Alma clients – Also open to the community ($10)
